UniHouse with South Refineries Company Inaugurates the Technical Training Center, Boosting Workforce Skill Development
BASRA, Iraq – April 21st, 2024 – The South Refineries Company (SRC) today marked a major milestone in its commitment to workforce development with the official inauguration of its Technical and Development Center. Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs, Mr. Ibrahiem Abd Zahra Mansaf, led the opening ceremony.
This new training center, established through a collaboration with Japan’s JGC and Hyundai Engineering and Construction, represents a significant investment in the technical workforce of the SRC and the broader Iraqi oil sector. It focuses on enhancing employees’ professional skills and emphasizing digital proficiency.
“This center is a core for development and training,” said Mr. Mansaf. “It will have a great impact on our technical workforce and is a significant accomplishment for the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.”
The center’s impact is enhanced by working with the reputable UK leading institute UniHouse, which provides consulting, administration, and training roles. The services offered are:
- Framework Development: Creation of operational guides, center management principles, and quality assurance procedures.
- Center Management & Expertise Transfer: Hands-on center management for a designated period, ensuring knowledge transfer to SRC staff for sustainable operation.
- Training Delivery: Selection of expert trainers in fields such as:
- Information Technology and Design (AutoCAD)
- Civil, Electrical, and Piping Inspection
- Scaffolding and Welding
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
