Professor Mohammed Al-Uzri joins the IBBC as Honorary Health and Higher Education Advisor
We are delighted to announce that Professor Mohammed Al-Uzri will join the Iraq Britain Business Council as an Honorary Health and Higher Education Advisor.
Professor Al-Uzri is a long-term contributor to IBBC events and activities and we are privileged to add his considerable experience to our ranks.
Professor Al-Uzri is an Honorary Professor with College of Life Sciences at the University of Leicester, is a Deputy Director for International Affairs & Past Chair of Iraq Sub-Committee at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Medical Director at the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
Prof. Al-Uzri has significant experience working on various initiatives in Iraq including having coordinated, delivered and advised on numerous health and education developments in Iraq since 2003, such as the Iraq Mental Health Survey (WHO collaboration with Iraqi authorities) and modernising medical education in Iraqi universities.
Prof. Al-Uzri’s vast experience in the sectors of health and education in the UK and Iraq, as well as a determined desire to improve the situation of Iraqis, makes him an ideal candidate to help IBBC facilitate lasting and effective changes in the areas of health and education.
