Prime Ministerial commitment to Higher Education & Graduate Scholarships

In order to promote the stature of education in Iraq, as well as for this country to regain its de- facto status on the international scene, His Excellency, Eng. Mohammed Shaya Al-Sudani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, has inaugurated his educational initiative that aimed at developing education in Iraq through sponsoring (5000) academic scholarship candidates to pursue their graduate studies at high-ranking world universities. The programme that encompasses a wide-range of academic majors is designed to bridge the gap between Iraq and other developed countries worldwide.

It is also sought to foster local Iraqi establishments and institutions with the expertise required to accelerate the process of economic and social development through a new quality scholarship policy consistent with the requirements of the government program.

Objectives of the Higher Committee for Education development in Iraq:

  1. Developing human resources and governmental institutions by sponsoring graduate students’ scholarships at high-ranking world universities.
  2. To be open and receptive of the hallmarks of cutting-edge educational systems in leading world universities.
  3. Developing education at all levels of study by adopting most recent, advanced educational strategies.

This programme has now released all of the criteria for Iraqi citizens to apply for scholarship support to attend international universities.
