In a statement released Sunday 2 February, the Republic of Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced:

“The Iraqi Foreign Ministry welcomes this appointment and believes that Baroness Nicholson passion, commitment, and loyal friendship with people of Iraq will enhance economic and trade co-operation between Iraq and UK.

As the chairman of the Iraq- British Business Council , the Baroness will be an asset and a partner with the Ministerial Trade Council between our two countries.”
