After the Trade Delegation to Baghdad, Christophe Michels, IBBC Managing Director, Ali Mashkour, IBBC Baghdad Office Manager, and Dr Ali Jawad, IBBC representative in KRI and Basrah, travelled to Kirkuk, Karbala and Dohuk to visit old and new members as well as important new government officials, Chambers of Commerce’s personell and friends.

Christophe, Dr Ali Jawad and Ali Mashkour visited Kirkuk, where they met with Mr Faisal Hammadi Al-Jibouri, Director General of the Northern Oil Company in Kirkuk. The meeting was also attended by IBBC member Bareeq. The IBBC introduced itself to Mr Al-Jibouri and offered its support for any future initiatives that could involve collaboration with the IBBC and its members. The IBBC team also met with Bareeq in their offices and Bareeq outlined the current projects it is undertaking, as well as its plans and ambitions for further activity in Kirkuk, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

In Karbala the IBBC team met with the Governor of Karbala, Mr. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, who has been in his second term since February of 2024. They also met with Mr. Haitham Naeem al-Mayali, Head of the Karbala Chambers of Commerce. During these meetings the possible opportunities for IBBC members in Karbala were discussed and there was a mutual expression of support for IBBC member businesses and business in general for Karbala.
