On 18 September 2025, IBBC’s Member Representative in Iraq, Mr Mohammed Al-Saadi, met Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani in Baghdad. Mr Al-Saadi presented a letter requesting support for the IBBC Basrah Conference on 4–5 December, which the Prime Minister confirmed in writing.

The Prime Minister also responded to member queries raised by Mr Al-Saadi and encouraged IBBC members to approach his office through the Council. This meeting builds on his previous engagement with IBBC, including sending a senior delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, H.E. Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, to the IBBC Spring Conference in London in June.
