IBBC Meets with the Central Bank of Iraq, Organised in Coordination with Sardar Group
The Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) visited the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) yesterday, meeting with the Head of Public Relations and the Head of International Relations at the Central Bank to provide a briefing on the work and activities of the Council.
The visit was organised with the support of Sardar Group, a valued member of IBBC, and the delegation comprised Mr Ali Mashkour, IBBC Baghdad Manager, and Ms Leena Zeyad, General Manager at Sardar Group. IBBC extends its thanks to Sardar Group for facilitating the visit, reflecting the strong and active relationship between IBBC and its member companies in engaging with key institutions across Iraq.
During the visit, congratulatory letters were presented to H.E. Mr Nazar Nasir Hussein on his recent appointment as Governor of the CBI. One from IBBC President Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, and one from Mr Sardar Bebani, Member of the IBBC Executive Committee, on behalf of Sardar Group. Both letters congratulated the Governor on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
The letters reaffirmed IBBC’s commitment to continued cooperation with the CBI in support of Iraq’s financial sector and the wider international business community, underlining the role IBBC plays in connecting its members, including Sardar Group, with senior decision-makers across Iraq’s public institutions.
The visit reflects the longstanding relationship that IBBC maintains with the Central Bank of Iraq, and its ongoing commitment to close dialogue with the Bank’s leadership on matters of mutual interest, including banking reform, financial sector development, and strengthening international business cooperation. IBBC values the active support of Sardar Group in making this visit possible, and looks forward to continued collaboration with its members in strengthening ties between the UK and Iraqi business communities.
