IBBC Lunch in honour of Professor Frank Gunter at the Cavalry and Guards Club

On 21st April, Brigadier James Ellery CBE hosted a lunch on behalf of the IBBC in honour of Professor Frank Gunter, a member of the IBBC Advisory Council and Professor at Lehigh University, at the Cavalry and Guards Club.

The lunch was attended by distinguished guests, including IBBC President, Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Amer Abdulhussein Alfatlawi, and members of the IBBC, reflecting continued engagement and interest.

During the lunch, Professor Gunter addressed recent regional developments in the Middle East, with particular focus on economic and financial dynamics. He highlighted the impact of significantly reduced oil revenues resulting from the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and emphasised the significant role of private sector within these dynamics. He also shared his outlook on future developments. The discussion was chaired by Christophe Michels, MD of IBBC.

Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with Professor Gunter, asking questions and gaining valuable insights in a formal setting.
