On 22 March, Iraq Britain Business Council hosted a lunch with special guest Martin Kent, Strategy Director for the Department for International Trade for IBBC Members at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Mayfair, London.

Mr Kent discussed in detail the setup of the new Department for International Trade, created by Prime Minister Theresa May in 2016, which now incorporates UK Export Finance, which for the first time will have representatives based globally. He also discussed the establishment of Trade Commissioners and the new Defence Licencing process, providing greater clarity and direction for IBBC Members.

The lunch was generously hosted by Brigadier James Ellery CBE, a lifelong member of the Cavalry and Guards Club and Chairman of TurnKey LLC, a valued member of IBBC. Numerous member representatives were present, including from Al Burhan Group, Dar Al-Handasah, G4S, GardaWorld, HWH & Associates, SNC Lavalin and Wood.
