IBBC and CMEC partner to host “A Conversation with His Excellency Dr Ali Allawi, Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance”.
CMEC (Conservative Middle East Council) has invited IBBC to partner with them to host His Excellency Dr Ali Allawi, Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minster and Finance Minister in conversation with Matthew Offord MP and associated audience.
Following a long association with CMEC, IBBC now look forward to an on-going relationship that focuses on joint political and economic events and activities in relation to UK and Iraq.

In his informed and articulate presentation, His Excellency discussed a wide range of subjects from security, to economic reform, visas, developing the private sector and jobs, the evolution of gas as a priority, Iraq’s 2021 budget, relations with neighbouring countries in the region, and demographic pressures. Overall, the economic situation is stable, after a challenging 2020, and his Excellency is optimistic for a more creative and productive future in Iraq and regionally.
