IBBC and AMAR Christmas Party a Resounding Success
More than 70 members, donors and special guests attended the IBBC and AMAR Foundation’s joint Christmas Party at their new shared office in Westminster Tower on Wednesday 14 December 2016. A spectacular view of the Houses of Parliament, London’s South Bank and beyond served as the backdrop to the festive event, which guests were able to enjoy as they mingled with other invitees and grazed on a selection of delicious canapes.
Among the attendees were IBBC Board Members Rasmi Al-Jabri, Director General of Basrah Engineering Group; Alistair Kett, Partner at PwC; Hadi Nezir, President of UB Holding; Bob Phillips, Development Director of Mott MacDonald; and Hans Nijkamp, Vice President and Chairman at Shell, in addition to Basrah Chairman of Commerce Chairman Makki Al-Sudany and David Campbell, President of BP Russia (formerly President BP Iraq).
The Christmas party also gave IBBC and AMAR the opportunity to showcase their new office space, which is located along the Thames at the southern end of Lambeth Bridge.
IBBC Managing Director Christophe Michels and AMAR Foundation Chief Executive Richard Crow used the occasion to thank their respective teams for their hard work throughout the year. They also expressed their gratitude to IBBC members and AMAR donors who supported the two organisations in 2016.
Meanwhile, Richard also warmly thanked Cihan Nezir of Amethyst Workshop, who was responsible for the design and outfitting of the new office.
The Christmas party also served as a farewell to Alastair Niven, Associate Director of IBBC, who stepped down from his post in late December after four years of dedicated service.
