Hadeel Al Hasan wins IBBC’s Rasmi Al Jabri award
Ms Hadeel Al Hasan of Al Hadeel Al Hasan LLP is the winner of this year’s IBBC Rasmi Al Jabri award. The law firm was founded by Ms Al Hasan in Baghdad in 2016 and has successfully built an internationally recognised legal practice dedicated to helping set up and operate both Iraqi and international businesses in Iraq. The company continues to grow and supports a wide range of enterprises including major oil companies, government bodies and INGOs.
The Rasmi Award, which was designed by IBBC Member, Zaha Hadid, was presented at the IBBC Spring Conference held on 2 July in Mansion House, City of London.
IBBC launched the Rasmi Al Jabri Annual Award for Excellence in November 2020 to honour the memory of Rasmi Al Jabri. Rasmi, IBBC’s Honorary Vice President in Iraq who died that year after many years working to support Iraqi businesses and build Anglo-Iraqi relations. The Award is open to any Iraqi-owned or managed business operating in Iraq that shows business growth, meets World Bank standards of integrity and governance, and promotes business partnerships between Iraqi and British registered companies. The Award also recognises businesses’ efforts to train and promote women and apprentices, and to invest in local communities. Qualifying companies must be nominated by an IBBC Member, and the winning company is selected by a panel of three independent judges chaired by Baroness Nicholson. Previous winners include Al Burhan and AAA holdings.
