Education, Training and Heritage Sector Table Members Meet in London
On Tuesday 23 February, members of IBBC’s Education, Training and Heritage Sector Table (ETHST) gathered in London for its first meeting of 2016. Held at The Athenaeum Club in Pall Mall, the meeting was chaired by Dr Alastair Niven, IBBC’s Associate Director, and was very well attended by table participants.
IBBC members Nigel Curson of Penspen, Anne Kennedy-Lynch of BP, Angelique Lecorps of G4S, Cihan Nezir of UB Holding, Bob Phillips of Mott MacDonald, Professor Christina Slade of Bath Spa University and Gerardine Togher of Sheffield Hallam University were all in attendance, as was David Lock, who was there in his capacity as an ETHST observer.
Items discussed during the meeting included the current situation in Iraq; an update on the IBBC-BUIC Mentoring Scheme, which was announced at the last ETHST meeting in October 2015; a follow-up on the IBBC London Business Forum and trip to the University of Wolverhampton, both of which were held in January; and possible cultural events that IBBC could host or support.
An update on IBBC’s Women’s Group was also delivered during the meeting. Dr Niven reminded the participants that Angelique, a Senior Consultant – Strategic Risk Advisory at G4S, had accepted the position of Chairman of the group, which was formally launched at the IBBC Autumn Conference in November 2015. The Women’s Group already has three seminars planned for throughout the year, possibly in April, July and September.
The proposed date for the next ETHST meeting is Tuesday 28 June.
