Cresent Celebrates 35 Years in Business

Cresent, Control of Work and Health and Safety specialists, celebrate 35 years in business.

Founded in 1982 Cresent has worked across a range of hazardous industries, in all four corners of the world. Over the last 35 years Cresent has celebrated many milestones, utilising its innovative approach to Health and Safety, Control of Work and Training.

  • Opening the first oil and gas e-learning centre (1993)
  • Being the first to develop an integrated Safe System of Work in the oil and gas industry (1994)
  • The largest project to date: an electronic Control of Work (CoW) system – WorkSafe® (2009)

One of the most significant events in Cresent’s history was the contract to design, programme and deploy WorkSafe® across 26 facilities at the Rumaila oilfield in Iraq. A second contract for the West Quarna II oilfield with LUKOIL followed, making Cresent the most influencial provider of CoW systems and HSE training programmes in Iraq. Being able to provide all of the systems, documents and training in English and Arabic is a key success factor for Cresent in Iraq.

Cresent became the first to design and deploy an Integrated Safe System of Work, and the associated training, in the marine industry after winning a contract with TechnipFMC, and last year were contracted to work closely with a specialist manufacturer of enriched uranium, to design a bespoke Safe System of Work for the nuclear industry.

Cresent has come a long way in the last 35 years, and with many exciting plans currently in the pipeline the team is committed to ensuring continued success as we go forward for the future.
