BP, in partnership with the IBBC Young Executives Network, host Iraqi Paralympian Ammar Ali at the British Museum

IBBC Member BP hosted a reception in honour of Iraqi Paralympian champion Ammar Ali at the British Museum on 17 January. The event was planned in partnership with IBBC’s Young Executive Committee (YEN).

Numerous guests and YEN members were in attendance to welcome Ammar Ali, a 2015 wheelchair fencing world champion, as well as a Paralympian in the London (2012) and Rio (2016) games. Attendees heard the remarkable story of Ammar’s journey from construction worker in Baghdad who was tragically injured during a bomb blast in 2007 that paralysed both of his legs and through adversity and immense perseverance has reached the pinnacle of sporting excellence representing Iraq globally.
