John Goreing, Vice President Special Projects of Olive Group, Dr Alastair Niven and Richard Cotton represented the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) at a joint seminar held at the offices of NOF Energy in Durham on Wednesday 19 October 2016.

NOF Energy is a membership organisation representing five hundred companies in the energy sector. It has recently been nominated as a partner to the IBBC, with perceived synergy between the two organisations.

The theme of the seminar was ‘Winning New Business Through Internationalisation: Iraq’.  Among the delegates in attendance were Ali Aziz, Trade Adviser from the Department of Investment in Baghdad; Tony Burnip, Regional Head for Siemens Middle East (which is already very active in Iraq); plus representatives from companies in the valve manufacturing, training and security vehicle sectors.

It is planned for NOF Energy members to join IBBC when it takes its Iraqi delegation to Aberdeen on 4-5 April 2017. The visit will take place after the IBBC Spring Conference on Monday 3 April 2017.
