Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne is President of IBBC, which she founded in 2008. Her lifetime interest in Iraq stems from the ancient civilisation and continuing culture the region offers.

Her professional training  in music and high level computer software development alongside political and charitable responsibilities led to two decades of elected posts in the UK, European and Council of Europe Parliaments.  She founded the AMAR International Charitable Foundation to provide health and education to refugees and internally displaced victims of war, in Iraq and elsewhere.  She is an active member of the House of Lords and has other outside responsibilities.
