IBBC Host a dinner for the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq’s leadership delegation
IBBC hosted a dinner in London on 8 June at the Caledonian Club in honur of a high level delegation visit from the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) to the UK. The dinner brought together IBBC members andother businesses from finance, education and policy sectors to discuss Iraq’s economic development and financial sector priorities.
The dinner, sponsored by Al-Burhan group, provided an opportunity for members and invited guests to engage directly with the CBI delegation and exchange views on Iraq’s ongoing economic reforms, investment climate and banking sector development.
IBBC President Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne welcomed guests and thanked CBI delegation for their continued engagement with the international business community. She gave a timely speech noting the strength of business and the IBBC during a hard time for the region and Iraq. She also highlighted the role of the Central Bank of Iraq in supporting economic stability, strengthening the financial sector and facilitating investment and growth. The dinner was attended by Senior CBI representatives and IBBC members from a wide range of organisations, including the National Bank of Iraq, Al Burhan Group, Al Fajer Group, Chatham House, Control Risks, Queen Mary University of London, Quinn Emanuel, Menzies Aviation, Stirling Education and Worley.
IBBC’s Managing Director Christophe Michels thanked CBI delegation for their participation and reiterated IBBC’s commitment to strengthening commercial, educational and institutional links between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
The event reflected IBBC’s continuing role as a platform for constructive dialogue between Iraqi decision-makers and the international business community, supporting greater understanding of Iraq’s evolving economic landscape and future opportunities.
