On 23 May, Christophe Michels and Professor Mohammed Al Uzri hosted a reception and dinner at the Alwiyah Club in Baghdad to honour the life and legacy of Muhanad AlKhattab, who had sadly passed away only few days earlier.

The gathering was attended by approximately 40 guests, including Muhanad’s brother and several close family friends. Members of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC), many of whom had worked closely with Muhanad over the years, came together to pay tribute to his enduring contributions and to express their condolences to his family.

The evening served as a poignant occasion to reflect on Muhanad’s exceptional life, his tireless efforts to promote the work of IBBC and to support Iraq, and the warmth and generosity with which he engaged all those around him.

A similar event in remembrance of Muhanad is being planned in London, with further details to be announced in due course.
