Baroness Nicholson meets KRI Prime Minister Bazarni and attends the Dohuk 5th Middle East Peace and security forum.
This weekend Baroness Nicholson met with Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and attended the Middle East Peace and Security Forum in Dohuk.
The cordial discussions covered international relations, including the Middle East, Ukraine -Russian war and developments in the USA.
During the meeting Prime Minister Barzani confirmed that he will be sending a strong delegation of KRG ministers and officials to the IBBC conference in Dubai on 12th and 13th December. He also invited IBBC to hold a conference in Erbil in 2025.
Baroness Nicholson also met former Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi and the previous Iraqi foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari during the conference and hosted a lunch for IBBC members in Erbil.
The conference was hosted by the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) in Dohuk, in collaboration with prominent institutions such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, the Atlantic Council, and Wilton Park & Crisis Response Council, who convened leading experts, officials, and academics to address pressing global and regional challenges. About 124 academics from 40 different countries participated in the conference.
