IBBC Spring Conference at The Mansion House on June 16

Iraq 2023 – Open to the world

BBC is proud to announce a superb line up of speakers and attendees for this year’s Spring Conference. Iraq is rapidly emerging as a stable economic force, with a new government, focused on delivering projects and benefits for its people. We see a significant upswing in new opportunities inside Iraq, and a pivot in its ambitions to trade and work with regional partners and countries.

Panels from finance and investment, to renewable energy and education, from the Kurdish Region of Iraq to tech Infrastructure are underpinned with ministerial keynotes from the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (H.E. Mr Ali Muhsin Ismail Al Alaq), Lord Dominic Johnson (UK Minister for Investment, Department for Business and International Trade), Nicholas Lyons, Lord Mayor of the City of London, Baroness Nicholson, President of IBBC and PM’s Trade Envoy for Iraq, H.E. Mohammed Jaafar Al-Sadr, Iraqi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr Laith Al Shaher, Deputy Oil Minister, with more to be confirmed.

Building on last year’s success we expect even more attendees. Already over 20 private Iraqi bankers have registered, and the Arab bankers association are attending, along with leading IBBC members.

‘Iraq 2023 – Open to the World’ panel focuses on international trade and relationships with partners, including a number of Ambassadors (tbc).

  • H.E. Bader Mohammad Alawadi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait
  • Professor Frank Gunter, Lehigh University

Finance panels include UK Export Finance, Trade Bank of Iraq , leading investment banks, SC, Iraqi Private Banking League and Arab bankers’ Association.

We will also be holding a special reception in One Great George Street the previous evening 15th June as part of the ticket
