Ibbc visit to Baghdad, 9 to 13 May
IBBC managing director Christophe Michels visited Iraq in anticipation of the IBBC Spring Conference to be held in London on the 24th of May.
During the visit he was accompanied by IBBC Founder Member Brigadier James Ellery of Turnkey, IBBC Member Representative in Iraq Mr Haider Al Shamaa and IBBC Baghdad office Manager Mr Muhanad Al Khattab.
The IBBC delegation met with numerous government officials and diplomats including the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr Mustafa Ghalib Mkheef, Deputy Minister of Oil Mr Kareem Hattab, the Chairman of PMAC, Dr Abdulkareem Al Faisal, the Executive Director of the PMs Reform Cell, Dr Alaa Al Saedi, the Chairman of TBI, Dr Salem Chalabi and the British Ambassador, Mr Mark Bryson-Richardson.
Meetings were also held with numerous members including Serco, Menzies, Siemens, GE and BP and IBBC hosted a networking reception at the Alburhan Centre attended by 35 members and supporters of the organisation. Guest were addressed by Yonadim Kenna MP, who spoke about the latest government formation efforts and Mr James Downer, the Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom.
