IBBC visits Siemens in Newcastle

On Friday 18 September IBBC’s MD Christophe Michels visited the Siemens Power Generation facilities in Newcastle.

The Siemens plant is specialised in the refurbishment and servicing of steam turbines for large power-plants across the world. One of its major contracts is for the Al Mussaiab Power Station south of Baghdad.

In Newcastle, Siemens is proud to follow the heritage of Sir Charles Parsons who invented the first steam turbine in the late 19th century. The Parsons Works, which in the past employed up to 30000 people, are a corner stone of Newscastle’s heritage in the UK’s engineering history.
