John Curtin is a Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Partner for Ernst & Young based out of London.  John leads EY’s United Kingdom and Ireland (UK&I) TAS Power & Utilities team.  John works with a Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) team comprising of valuation professionals, financial modellers and economists.  He has over 18 years of international professional experience working on transactions throughout many industries. John has raised finance and has structured deals with complex international and financing arrangements.

John has relevant experience in Iraq and the wider Middle East and North Africa by working on transactions within numerous sectors such as oil and gas sector, telecommunications, power and utilities, infrastructure and construction.  John has recently worked on the transformations within the State Owned Enterprises (SoEs) in Iraq, including developing investment strategy, financing and operational restructuring along with recapitalization of balance sheets.  John has extensive experience with working with regulators in developing tariff structuring and regimes, which incorporate the local and global economic factors in in order to provide the optimal outcome for the government and the end consumers.

During his career, John has gained international experience and appreciation of working with emerging economies while transferring developed economy knowledge and ideas.  John has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
